Our Business
Executive Leadership Group, Inc. (ELG) creates Human Performance Systems to implement organizational strategy and programs. For over 20 years, ELG's Assessment, Assistance and Training services have helped executives of small and large companies realize their goals.
Our Focus
An entrepreneur I know and respect once said to me, "It's fine to say you own a company. But that's like owning a watch. It's nice to say you own it and it's nice to look at. But try making things happen inside!"
Executive Leadership Group was formed many years ago with the clear charter to help leaders "make things happen inside." We make sure that, once a destination is decided upon, the organization arrives safely. As one of our clients, the CEO of a successful global firm once remarked, "It's one thing to explain to your board why a strategy didn't work. But try explaining to them why you couldn't even implement it with your own people!"
Our extreme focus on implementation is apparent if you look at our matrix of Products and Services. Our work ranges from the very strategic, at the organization-wide level, to the very tactical (projects and program management).
Our Approach
ELG helps companies implement their strategies by helping leaders assure that employees clearly understand what outcomes they must individually produce to support the achievement of corporate strategies. To do this, ELG relies on a unique Strategy Focusing System™. This system assures that each employee focuses on clear Whole Goals™, which are aligned vertically (to those of their leadership) and horizontally (with those of their peers). In addition to describing business-relevant outcomes, Whole Goals describe the parameters within which an individual must stay while achieving the outcome.

Our Philosophy
As Bill explained above, we help leaders implement their strategies and tactics. Maybe just as important, we ensure that our client organizations become more capable of implementation, once we have left. That's called building Implementation Strength™. I might add that employees, not just leaders, appreciate the focus, lack of ambiguity, and personal involvement called for in our approach. If you'll forgive the threadbare term, they find it empowering. So, too, do the leaders.
So successful implementations and Implementation Strength™ are two major results from working with ELG. But beyond our results, I am also proud of our people and the way we do business. One thing our clients find, almost universally: ELG consultants and instructors are great to work with. They're smart, pleasant, and respectful, with just the right mix of humility and moxie.
