Alison Sigmon, M.Ed., LPC, PMP

Alison has over 25 years of experience as a facilitator, trainer, digital strategist, and writer. With proven success in organizational development, project management, communication, and teamwork, she has led project teams and executives in creating and executing business development, fundraising, and growth strategy.  She has held senior level positions and executive roles in startups in a variety of industries to include food & beverage, entertainment, ecommerce, and Internet applications.

She began her career in the US Air Force where, as an operations officer, she managed projects and airlift operations around the world including support for White House Communications, humanitarian relief initiatives, DEA, and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Alison is a Gulf War veteran.  After completing her M.Ed. in clinical counseling, she left the military, where she rose to the rank of major, to pursue clinical practice and entrepreneurial interests.

She is a Project Management Institute PMP certified project manager who has trained, consulted with, facilitated, and coached tens of thousands of people over 16 years in large enterprises and government agencies around the world. Clients include the United Nations System Staff College, Starbucks, Catalent Pharmaceuticals, Activision/Blizzard Entertainment, Coach, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Boston Scientific, Verizon Wireless, Barclay’s Bank, United Airlines, Noble Energy, Emerson Electric, Herbalife, AMGEN, Level 3 Communications, NC Blue Cross Blue Shield, Social Security Administration, Virginia Department of Transportation, and Bank of America.

She has led many projects including: software and user experience design; digital content strategy and management; brand design and management; marketing, advertisement, and communications strategy; business development and fundraising; crowdfunding; product growth; ecommerce and merchandising; video design and production; and data analysis.

Her presentation and publishing efforts focus on the behavioral side of project management and relationships. Alison published her first book, Delivering Bad News in Good Ways, an Amazon bestseller and the first in a series, in spring 2016. Her next book, Managing Up to Keep Your Projects From Falling Down, is due out in early 2017.

She holds an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Georgia and a Master of Education degree in clinical counseling. She is an avid distance runner, mountain hiker, writer, and traveler, and she has an insatiable curiosity about people, places, and things.
